Siddartha Gautama is said to have received his enlightenment (buddhahood) at night whilst sitting under a bodhi tree, a type of fig tree, with heart shaped leaves. This image is an illustration the morning after! I have given him the gesture\/mudra of the open palm as this means 'go away fear\/no fear.<\/p>

The swirling sky I often use is to suggest the energy therein. We live in a sea of energy. I do literally see this, and it is more apparent on a bright day, although far more subtle than I paint it.\u00a0<\/p>

The upward pointing triangular mountain refers to the end of religious fulfilment, the level to which much of humanity has reached. Our time is referred to as the Awakening (Resurrection) of Consciousness. The yellow swirl is a Buddhist device that indicates an activation of the third eye.<\/p>
